As we write this for our Houston trade show blog, the Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) is in full swing. What is really exciting for the event organizers is that this year’s attendance was the highest ever recorded attendance in OTC history! What’s the number? Believe it or not, this year’s OTC drew an astonishing 108,300 people. This actually surpasses the previous record set in 1982.
Whether you went to OTC to watch one of the 300 technical presentations or you were one of the nearly 3,000 companies exhibiting this year, we know you had an incredible time – just like we had an incredible time helping companies like yours get their exhibits prepared. Every year, OTC reminds us that it’s a great time to be in the trade show industry; people are excited to show off their enterprises, and it’s a wonderful thing to be a part of.
If you didn’t attend OTC, then it’s likely that you aren’t in the industry fields that involve offshore resources – drilling, exploration, production and environmental protection – because everyone who is anyone in these fields attends OTC. If you missed it, make it a priority to go next year; you won’t regret it. But if you are in another field, you may want to take a look at some of the other top trade shows in North America to see if any of them would be more conducive to your field. You just might find one of them to be the perfect fit.
