We all know there are plenty of new ways to attract people to your booth at trade shows. Technology has made it possible to work your booth with fewer people and more audio/video attractions, among other things. But sometimes, it’s the tried and true methods that work the best – no matter how far technology has brought us. We want to encourage you not to abandon those traditional trade show efforts that have proven to work over time, such as:
Fun and Food –Yes, fun! We’re talking spin-the-wheel games and exciting product demos. These are time-tested ways to get people talking about your exhibit and make an immediate impression on trade show attendees. As for food, the general consensus is that it never goes out of style. People will always enjoy being able to pick up a tiny cup of MnM’s or fun-sized Snickers, and they will be at the table long enough for you to get their attention.
Swag – Promotional giveaways are always popular, but as we have discussed before, there is a right way and a wrong way to go about it. Follow our tips for choosing the best promotional items at your next trade show, so that attendees hold onto them (rather than throw them away) and remember you every time they use them.
Speakers – Getting a speaker booked for your exhibit is a great way to get people to come over and pay attention. You will probably need to clear it with the show organizer before booking anyone in particular, but if you can get a space that will accommodate the seats, by all means – go for it. Make sure it’s someone who is respected in the industry, or popular with the potential customers who will be present. Tech and new media trade show exhibitors are really jumping on this trend right now.
It’s important to have these strategies in place well in advance of your next show, but the good news is, they are simple and low-tech; that means they can be planned easily. If you need help with your trade show display, our Houston trade show suppliers will be glad to offer our services.
